Aluminum Foil and Sheet

MATERIAL OVERVIEW

Aluminum (Al) is a silvery white, soft, ductile metal that is the third most abundant element (after oxygen and silicon) and makes up about 8% by weight of the Earth's crust. Aluminum is so chemically reactive that native specimens are rare. Instead, it is found combined in over 270 different minerals. The primary ore used in the production of aluminum metal is bauxite.

Aluminum is remarkable for its light weight, strength, durability and for its ability to resist corrosion, due to the formation of an extremely thin yet very strong layer of oxide film. Structural components made from aluminum and its alloys are vital to the aerospace industry, transportation, building construction, and many other industries and applications.

Aluminum foil is widely used in packaging, insulation, and electromagnetic shielding. Aluminum sheet is used to manufacture vehicle bodies, home appliances, siding, cookware, and in thousands of industrial applications where a strong, light, easily formed material is needed.

ESPI specializes in small research and prototype quantities of pure aluminum foil and sheet in thicknesses ranging from less than 0.001” (.025mm) to more than 1” (25mm). We carry many standard thicknesses but can roll aluminum to just about any thickness and tolerance you need.

ESPI'S RESPONSIVENESS TO ANY CUSTOMER'S UNIQUE SPECIFICATIONS ENABLES US TO MANUFACTURE TO NEARLY ANY CUSTOM REQUIREMENT.

Welcome to

ESPI was incorporated in 1950 with a mission to provide a competitive source for high purity metals, metal compounds and alloys. We are a valuable resource for virtually all major universities worldwide, global corporate R&D laboratories, thousands of domestic and international manufacturing companies and all U.S. government research laboratories. ESPI offers unique advantages often unavailable from larger organizations with no minimum order size & all business hour calls are handled by a competent sales representative. Automated answering systems and voice mail are not an option at ESPI.

Located within our fabrication facility is the melting department, forging & shaping areas, and the rod & wire, and sheet & foil departments providing the following manufacturing capabilities:

  • Casting of pure metals and alloys
  • Vacuum arc melting
  • Induction melting
  • Rod and wire drawing/extrusion
  • Sheet, foil and ribbon rolling
  • CNC milling and machining
