V HEALTH HAZARD INFORMATION
Effects of Overexposure:
To the best of our knowledge the physical, chemical and toxicological properties of silver oxide have not been thoroughly investigated and recorded.
Silver compounds can effect the body if they are inhaled or if they come in contact with the eyes or skin. Silver compounds can cause discoloration or blue-gray darkening of the eyes, nose, throat and skin.
Acute and Chronic Effects:
Inhalation: Repeated overexposure can cause mild bronchitis (cough, shortness of breath). Acute overexposure to dust may aggravate pre-existing chronic lung diseases. Repeated exposure to dust can permanently discolor (argyreia) the nose/throat.
Ingestion: No data
Skin: Repeated exposure to dust can permanently discolor (argyreia) the skin.
Eye: Repeated exposure to dust can permanently discolor (argyreia) the mucous membranes of the eyes.
Other: Repeated skin contact with silver compounds has been found to cause allergic reactions in a few apparently sensitive persons, including (skin inflammation) and hypersensitivity.

EMERGENCY AND FIRST AID PROCEDURES:
INHALATION: Remove person to fresh air, provide artificial respiration if require, keep warm and quiet, seek immediate medical advice.
INGESTION: Seek immediate medical advice.
SKIN: Rinse affected area with flowing water, then wash with soap or detergent and water. Seek immediate medical advice.
EYE: Flush eyes with lukewarm water, lifting upper and lower eyelids, for at least 15 minutes. Then consult a doctor.
VI REACTIVITY DATA
Conditions to Avoid: Flammable organic solvent vapors.
Incompatibility (Material to Avoid): Strong bases. Reacts with reducing agents, flammable substances. Silver may react with acetylene or ammonia to form shock sensitive compounds.

VII SPILL OR LEAK PROCEDURES
Steps to be Taken in Case Material is Released or Spilled: Wear appropriate respiratory and protective equipment specified in section VIII. Sweep or vacuum up spill using a high efficiency particulate absolute (HEPA) air filter and place in a sealed container for disposal. Take care not to raise dust. Avoid sources of ignition.
Waste Disposal Method: Dispose of in accordance with all State, Federal and Local regulations.
VIII SPECIAL PROTECTION INFORMATION
Respiratory Protection: A NIOSH/MSHA approved respirator
Ventilation: Use local exhaust to keep dust air levels below the workplace exposure limits.
Protective Gloves: Impervious gloves
Eye Protection: Dust-proof safety goggles.
Other Protective Equipment: Protective work clothing
IX SPECIAL PRECAUTIONS
Precautions to Be Taken in Handling and Storage: Keep container tightly sealed. Store in cool, dry conditions in well sealed containers. Avoid breathing dust. Use in well ventilated area. Avoid contact with eyes. Do not wear contact lenses. Avoid contact with skin, especially when cracked or irritated. Keep work area as dust-free as possible.
Work Practices: Implement engineering and work practice controls to reduce and maintain concentration of exposure at low levels. Use good housekeeping and sanitation practices. Do not use tobacco or food in work area. Wash thoroughly before eating and smoking. Do not blow dust off clothing or skin with compressed air. Maintain eyewash capable of sustained flushing, safety drench shower and facilities for washing.
