500 oC:0.532 700 oC: 0.5841000 oC: 0.640

1200 oC:0.6601500 oC: 0.6901800 oC:0.710

MECHANICAL PROPERTIES:

Ductile-to-Brittle Transition Temperature (Recrystallized): Below 254 oC

Recrystallization Temperature (*1 hr): 1300-1550 oC

Stress-Relieving Temperature: 1000-1200 oC

Workability: In both stress-relieved and recrystallized conditions far surpasses pure molybdenum. Works warm or cold. High yield strength requires 500-700 oC for certain fabricating operations.

Weldability: Use same procedures as those for pure rhenium. Fusion weldability is outstanding and nearly as good as that of pure rhenium.

Machinability: Use conventional machining methods. Alloy particulary suited to EDM and to abrasive machining with silicon carbide and aluminum oxide wheels. Constant movement, light pressure, and flood cooling recommended.

Welcome to

ESPI was incorporated in 1950 with a mission to provide a competitive source for high purity metals, metal compounds and alloys. We are a valuable resource for virtually all major universities worldwide, global corporate R&D laboratories, thousands of domestic and international manufacturing companies and all U.S. government research laboratories. ESPI offers unique advantages often unavailable from larger organizations with no minimum order size & all business hour calls are handled by a competent sales representative. Automated answering systems and voice mail are not an option at ESPI.

Located within our fabrication facility is the melting department, forging & shaping areas, and the rod & wire, and sheet & foil departments providing the following manufacturing capabilities:

  • Casting of pure metals and alloys
  • Vacuum arc melting
  • Induction melting
  • Rod and wire drawing/extrusion
  • Sheet, foil and ribbon rolling
  • CNC milling and machining
