V HEALTH HAZARD INFORMATION
Effects of Exposure:
To the best of our knowledge the chemical, physical and toxicological properties of gallium oxide have not been thoroughly investigated and recorded.
Gallium and gallium compounds may cause metallic taste, dermatitis and depression of the bone marrow function. Large doses may cause hemorrhagic nephritis.
Acute and Chronic Effects:
Inhalation: Mild respiratory irritant.
Ingestion: May effect peripheral nerves and sensation, causing flaccid paralysis without anesthesia. Behavioral changes such as somnolence and loss of appetite may be noted. Other symptoms may include nausea, vomiting, metallic taste in mouth, general itching and sweating.
Skin: May cause irritation
Eye: Dusts or powder may cause skin and eye irritation.

EMERGENCY AND FIRST AID PROCEDURES:
INHALATION: Supply fresh air, if required, provide artificial respiration, keep warm. Seek immediate medical attention.
INGESTION: Have victim rinse mouth several times and spit out. Administer 1 or 2 glasses of water and induce vomiting. Seek medical attention.
SKIN: In case of contact, immediately wash with soap and water. Seek medical attention.
EYES: In case of contact, rinse eyes with lukewarm water for 15 minutes. Seek medical attention.

VII SPILL OR LEAK PROCEDURES
Steps to Be Taken in Case Material Is Released or Spilled: Wear a self-contained breathing apparatus and full protective clothing. Isolate the area where the spill occurred and insure that proper ventilation is available. Vacuum up spill and place in a container for proper disposal. Take care not to raise dust.
Waste Disposal Method: Dispose of in accordance with applicable Federal, State and Local regulations.

Work Practices: Implement engineering and work practice controls to reduce and maintain concentration of exposure at low levels. Use good housekeeping and sanitation practices. Do not use tobacco or food in work area. Wash thoroughly before eating and smoking. Do not blow dust off clothing or skin with compressed air. Maintain eyewash capable of sustained flushing, safety drench shower and facilities for washing.
