V HEALTH HAZARD INFORMATION
Effects of Over Exposure:
Ammonium hexachloroosmate is a mucous membrane irritant and a corrosive solid which may cause chemical burns to skin. Oxidation of osmium compounds may form the volatile and highly irritating osmium (VIII) oxide (OsO4). Exposure may cause bronchitis and dermatitis. OsO4 may also cause ocular disturbances and temporary loss of night vision.
