| ESPI was incorporated in 1950 with a company mission to provide a single, reliable source for researcher's high purity metals and metal compound needs. This company mission continues today, some sixty years later. Our goal is to supply quality products, service, and support to our customers at competitive prices. We began as a small company and remain so today. Unlike larger companies that are constrained by their size and the bureaucracy that comes with size, being a small company allows us to be more responsive to our customer's needs. We can ship orders faster and have no minimum order size. Through our years of service we have come to be a valued resource for virtually all major universities worldwide, corporate R&D laboratories worldwide, and the U.S. government's many research laboratories. We have from ten to seventeen employees depending upon the time of year. The summer months mean a wealth of available talent from our local university, Southern Oregon University and our state universities: Oregon State, and the University of Oregon. With the help of our college interns the summer means a time to get many of the projects completed that would otherwise not be done. This website is a good example; our website is due in large part to our summer college interns. Thank you Caitlin and Carley! We are housed in two buildings, 1050 and 1070 with a total square footage of 28,000 square feet. Between the two buildings we have our melt department, forging & shaping area, rod & wire department, sheet & foil department, machine shop, and shipping & receiving. Sales and accounting are located in 1070. ESPI's manufacturing capabilities include: casting of pure metals and alloys, vacuum arc melting, induction melting, rod and wire drawing, sheet and foil rolling, and CNC milling and machining.
